Anxiety
Anxiety impacts many throughout the US. It is this intense, excessive fear and worries about everyday situations. One may experience racing thoughts and physical symptoms (racing heartbeat, sweaty hands, hot flashes, nervousness, etc.) It is a mental illness, and support is available. You do not have to fight this fight alone. If you feel like anxiety is limiting your life, and you feel stuck, let's discuss the next steps and identify treatments that may fit your needs.
Racial Identity
Racial Identity/Oppression/Racial trauma are a few terms that many of us use to describe the challenges we have faced historically/currently as we attempt to find our place in this world. Racial trauma is the mental and emotional injuries caused by racial biases, ethnic discrimination, and hate crimes. In the US, BIPOC individuals are the most vulnerable populations due to living under a system of white supremacy. A safe place is created to explore further, acknowledge, and process shared experiences (thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that impact people of color). As your therapist, I will proceed with compassion, respect, and empathy. I see you, and I hear you! Let us navigate this journey together.
Depression is like a dark cloud that overshadows individuals. It's a repetitive cycle of physical, social, and behavioral challenges. One may feel persistent sadness, inability to get out of bed and tend to activities of daily living, irritability, isolation, etc. Depression can lead to sleep, appetite, self-esteem, weight challenges, and energy level changes. If Depression is impacting aspects of your life and you need support with identifying exactly what you're experiencing and treatment options, let's connect and utilize this time and space to create the change you want to see for yourself.

Individuals experiencing stress can feel overwhelmed, irritable, tearful, exhausted, have physical pain, have health problems, have concentration challenges, etc. Stress can make it difficult for us to relax and can be coupled with different emotions. Everyone manages stress differently. If your current techniques do not serve you, let's explore and identify alternative stress management techniques and strategies.

Parenting is hard work; it's a challenging and full-time process. Parenting is a process that prepares your child for independence.
